John Hall
17/10/2019 – 16/10/2027
I've lived in Waterbeach for 16 years and have a child in year 5. I work as a Software Engineer in Milton. I've been a trustee of City Church Cambridge for the last 19 years, a role which has many of the same concerns as a school governor, such as finance, risk assessment, health and safety and safeguarding. I thought that those skills and experience that I have gained would be of use in serving the governing body of Waterbeach Community Primary School.

Originally from South Africa, I live in Landbeach and have two children at the school. I have a background in mathematics and physics and now work in strategy for a global technology company. I am delighted to be able to learn more about education, and our local community, from being on the governing body and hope to be able to help create greater opportunities for the children at Waterbeach through being part of it, based on my skills in financial analysis and strategic thinking. Helping coach and manage a few local youth football teams fills up any remaining time kids leave me.

I am a retired Science teacher. I worked in a local secondary school in Cambridge for over thirty years and was a member of their Senior Leadership Team for the last ten, with responsibility for the Co-curriculum (learning/activities outside the classroom). My family has lived in Waterbeach for nearly 15 years. With more time available to me I want to contribute in a useful way to my local community which is why I have volunteered as a Co-opted Governor at the School. I also volunteer at Wicken Fen National Trust Reserve in their Learning Department – and work with young people as a Leader in a Duke of Edinburgh's Award Open Group at St Ives. My own interests include road biking, mountaineering, and gardening.

I have been working as a teacher at Waterbeach for five years and over that time have fallen in love with the school. I am an active member of the school PTA and wanted to take the next step and join the governing board to support the ongoing success of the school.
As a staff governor I am able to bring an important perspective to our meetings and discussions, and I am looking forward to continuing to support and develop our wonderful school.

I have lived in Waterbeach for almost 10 years and have 2 children at Waterbeach Primary. I run a Graduate Technical Recruitment Consultancy and in recent years have been heavily involved in encouraging diversity in the workforce, particularly in encouraging school-aged girls to explore careers in technology. With my knowledge in recruitment and running a business I aim to add guidance and support to the resources committee to contribute to the running of the school.

I decided I would like to become a Governor as I felt this role would be a great way to become more involved in the school and the community. I have lived in Waterbeach for 7 years and have a child who has just started Reception (and another who will be there in a few years' time). I am passionate about education and the school experience for our children and am looking forward to helping the school continue to develop and grow. I have a range of professional skills which fit very well with this role and welcome the opportunity to utilise these in a way to benefit the school and our children.

I've recently joined the governing body as a Parent Governor, I have lived in Waterbeach for 7 years, having grown up locally in Milton. I have two children and my son joined the school in reception in 2022. I have worked in HR for 17 years and currently head up a HR business partnering team in a NFP genetic research organisation just outside Cambridge. I was keen to join the governing body as I see the school as a central part of our community in the village and value the significant role it has in our children's lives. I wanted to be able to contribute to that community and support the school's governance however I can.

My family and I live in Waterbeach, and with young children growing up in the village, I am keen to support the school and the wider community. I work as Head of Marketing for a global publishing and assessment organisation in Cambridge, where I lead teams, develop global marketing strategies and help deliver positive change across an international organisation.
I am also an accredited coach and experienced people leader. I enjoy helping people develop, succeed and reach their potential.
I joined the governing body because I wanted to better understand the school and contribute to its future development. I hope to bring my experience in strategic thinking, leadership and marketing and communications to support the school, its staff and pupils, helping ensure it continues to be a place where children can learn, grow and thrive.

Lucinda Keen
07/04/2026 - 06/04/2030
I recently joined as a parent governor as I felt it was a great opportunity to support the school and the wider village community. As a teacher with experience across both private and state education, and having held a range of roles including academic and pastoral leadership, I have developed a strong understanding of progression and holistic development. I feel these experiences make me well placed to support and contribute to the school. With my eldest already at the school, and my son and niece joining in the coming years, I am personally invested in helping the school continue to thrive.
